Legacy Timeline

A look back at the milestones, moments, and memories that shaped The Disc Golf Guy and helped tell the story of disc golf as it grew into what it is today.

Over Two Decades of Telling Disc Golf’s Story, One Event at a Time
A lot has changed in disc golf since I started filming with a handheld camcorder and burning DVDs in my basement. What hasn’t changed? My passion for the sport, the people in it, and the stories that deserve to be told.

This Legacy Timeline is a look back at the moments, big and small, that helped shape The Disc Golf Guy brand and the disc golf media landscape around it. From the early days of filming events with no budget and no blueprint to covering national tours and building a 100,000+ subscriber channel… it’s been a wild ride.

Why a Timeline?
Because this isn’t just my story, it’s part of the sport’s history too.

The timeline captures key milestones, firsts, favorite moments, and the evolution of how disc golf has been covered over the years. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or just found the channel, I hope it gives you a sense of where this thing came from and where it’s headed next.

From Passion Project to Full-Time Gig
I didn’t set out to become a disc golf media guy, I just loved the game, had a camera, and wanted to help it grow. Over the years, that simple mission has turned into thousands of hours of coverage, hundreds of events, and more flights, drives, and editing sessions than I can count.

This page is a snapshot of that journey.

Thanks for Being a Part of It
Whether you watched the first Memorial coverage back in 2010, tuned in to SmashBoxx during a snowstorm, or just picked up a Disc Golf Guy stamped disc thank you. Your support is what made this possible.

Now let’s take a walk down memory lane…
